SIFA 2024

During this 4-month internship, I was fortunate to work closely with both the programming and producing team at the festival. This invaluable experience provided me with hands-on exposure to the inner workings of an international festival, and I was given the opportunity to contribute to various aspects of festival preparation and execution.

I had the privilege of working under the guidance and supervision of established producers with extensive experience in the industry. They generously shared their expertise and allowed me to participate in key tasks, providing me with a deeper understanding of what goes into curating and managing a large-scale event. From assisting with event logistics to supporting programming decisions, I was able to observe the processes that shape the festival’s overall production.

One of the most rewarding aspects of the internship was the opportunity to learn about the complexities of coordinating artists and volunteers. The producers I worked with were highly collaborative and encouraged me to take initiative, giving me the chance to engage in brainstorming creative ideas, and gain firsthand experience in areas like volunteer engagement and event promotion.

Throughout the internship, I gained a deeper appreciation for the behind-the-scenes work that makes a festival run smoothly, and I was able to apply my skills in organization, communication, and project management in a real-world setting. This experience has enhanced my understanding of the industry for event production and programming.
